National holidays
We follow Law 27.399 on national holidays. Fixed holidays have a set date; Carnival and Good Friday are calculated from the date of Easter.
Movable holidays (Güemes, San Martín, Cultural Diversity and National Sovereignty) are moved as the law says: Tuesday or Wednesday go to the previous Monday; Thursday or Friday go to the next Monday. Saturday, Sunday or Monday stay as they are.
Tourism non-working days
There are up to three a year, set by the national government with a resolution published in the Boletín Oficial. We add them by hand once published and show the source.
While a year has no resolution yet, we do not show estimated dates as if they were official: the year page says so.
Maundy Thursday and long weekends
Maundy Thursday is a non-working day: each employer decides whether to work. It is listed but does not count toward long weekends.
A long weekend is a stretch of three or more days off in a row, adding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and tourism non-working days.
ANSES payments
Payment dates are copied by hand every month from the payment calendar ANSES publishes at anses.gob.ar, never from press articles or other sources. If ANSES changes a date, ANSES prevails.
Moon, eclipses and seasons
Moon phases, eclipses and the start of the seasons are calculated when the site is built, using the astronomy-engine library, without querying any external service. Times are shown in Argentina time (UTC-3) and seasons refer to the southern hemisphere.
Solar eclipse visibility is calculated for Buenos Aires; elsewhere in the country it may differ. Minutes may vary depending on each observatory's definition.
Notice
This site is for information only. Governments can change dates by decree: before planning a trip, payroll or paperwork, confirm the date in the Boletín Oficial.
